Laguna Village, Belize (WBWTN) — A volunteer soldier has died suddenly while making his way to his farm in southern Belize.
Pedro Itch, 41, left his home in Laguna Village in the Toledo District early on Saturday morning to tend to his farm several miles away. About an hour and a half later, he called his brother to say he was feeling weak and needed assistance.
Two of his brothers immediately travelled to the location on motorcycles. When they arrived, they found Mr Itch sitting on a farm road, visibly unwell. After speaking briefly, he leaned back and lost consciousness. He died shortly afterwards.
Police were alerted just before 11 a.m where they recovered Mr Itch’s body.
Authorities say investigations are continuing, and the cause of death has not yet been determined.
