Medina Bank Resident Charged for Brother’s Death

Toledo, Belize (WBWTN) – A man from Medina Bank Village in the Toledo District has been formally arrested and charged in connection with the death of his brother.

On Tuesday, May 27th, 55-year-old Rafael Cal was picked up near Tambran Village and later charged with murder. The arrest came after  investigation into the fatal incident involving his brother, Romano Cal.

Authorities carried out multiple interviews with individuals believed to have knowledge of the case, including eyewitnesses. Based on the information gathered, Cal was taken into custody and questioned. During a station interview, he reportedly denied any involvement.

Later that day, a charge of murder was formally read to him. The motive behind the deadly dispute is believed to be tied to a family issue.

Rafael Cal remains in custody as the case continues through the court process.
