Unitedville, Cayo – A man’s body was discovered on Wednesday, June 4th, inside the cemetery in Unitedville, Cayo District. The body was already in a bad state when it was found, and it appeared the man had been shot multiple times including near the neck, shoulder, and stomach.
No one in the area could tell who the man was. The village chairman, along with several residents, tried to help identify him, but nobody recognized him.
The following day, a woman went to the Police , believing the man could be her father, one Paul Conrad Serano. She was shown pictures of the body, but she couldn’t be completely sure from the photos alone.
She was later taken to the National Forensic Lab, where she was able to confirm the identity of the man. What helped her recognize him was a small heart-shaped tattoo on his left hand. The deceased was confirmed to be Paul Conrad Serano, a 48 year old mechanic from Unitedville.
Later that same day, the area around the cemetery was revisited as part of the ongoing investigation. One person was detained while authorities continue to look into what happened.
