(WBWTN) – The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) has extended heartfelt congratulations to Jovaunn Ramos, a young Belizean footballer whose inspiring journey from local dreams to international achievements continues to make the country proud.
In a post on their official Facebook page, the FFB proudly recognized Ramos’ success, stating:
“Congratulations Jovaunn Ramos! You did that! Jovaunn is another one of our student-athletes who began his academic journey abroad through the FFB Student-Athlete Scholarship Program. With the right mindset, anything is possible! Dream big!”
Ramos, who is currently studying and playing football in the United States, shared a powerful message reflecting on his journey and what he believes is the true meaning of the “Belizean dream.”
“As a kid, I had flashes of something special,” he wrote on Facebook. “I would see myself playing for the national team or professionally. Some said it wasn’t possible, but I never stopped dreaming big.”
He credited his godfather, Stanley Jordan Reneau, for inspiring his passion for football and thanked national team official Philip Marin for giving him the opportunity to represent Belize a step that opened doors for his scholarship abroad.
Ramos highlighted the struggles he faced along the way, reminding young Belizeans that perseverance is key. “Many don’t see the struggles. Many would quit rather than see it through. But the kid that started this would never quit.”
He also gave thanks to his support system. His family, friends, and mentors and expressed deep faith in God. “Without Him, I am nothing.”
Jovaunn’s message carries an uplifting tone meant to inspire others from similar backgrounds. He closed by saying, “To me, the Belizean dream is putting my country on my back wherever I go, so others can see they have the right to dream. If a ghetto youth from Southside Belize City can do it YOU CAN TOO.”
Ramos’ journey stands as a powerful reminder that belief, hard work, and support can help turn dreams into reality. No matter where you come from.
