Belmopan, Belize (WBWTN) –Miss Universe Belize delegate Monisha Hyde paid a visit to Commissioner of Police Dr. Richard Rosado at his office in Belmopan Monday evening. The two sat down for a serious talk about one of the country’s biggest issues—gun violence.

Dr. Rosado, recently appointed as Commissioner, told Miss Hyde that tackling violent crime is one of his top priorities. He shared that he fully supports her efforts and believes it’s going to take both law enforcement and community voices to bring real change.

Miss Hyde, known for speaking up on issues affecting Belizean youth, used the opportunity to push her message of peace. She said she’s committed to using her platform to reach young people and bring more awareness to the damage gun violence is causing across the country.

The meeting ended with a sense of mutual respect and a shared goal to see a safer Belize.
