Belize City, Belize (WBWTN) – A man is now in police custody after a shooting on Victoria Street late Tuesday night, June 3rd.
Sometime after 10 p.m., gunshots were heard in the area. A police officer who was nearby rushed over and spotted a man running out of an empty lot. The man had on a red shirt, dark pants, and his face was covered with a ski mask.
When the officer told him to stop, the man reportedly turned around and fired a shot. The officer fired back, but the shooter managed to get away through an alley.
Police later searched the area and found spent shells, a black .380 pistol, a green ski mask, a cap, and signs that someone may have been injured.
The this morning, Wednesday June 4th, police picked up Clive Hendricks, also known as Tambran. He was found with gunshot injuries to his hand. Police say he’s the same person who fired at the officer.
